What We Do

Volunteer Centre Greenwich exists to 'Promote the value of volunteers and volunteering in the Royal Borough of Greenwich and ensure equality of access to volunteering for all people'.

Volunteer Centre Greenwich aims to do this by:

• Promoting volunteering to disadvantaged groups and individuals;
• Providing information and support to all people seeking volunteering opportunities;
• Providing information and support to organisations seeking volunteers;
• Providing support and training to volunteers and those who work with volunteers;
• Promoting good practice around volunteering; 
• Developing volunteering opportunities in line with good practice guidelines.

About our services:

We help local people find volunteering opportunities though online and face-to-face signposting services.  People volunteer for many different reasons: to improve employment prospects, for friendship and to learn new skills to name but a few. Our database and trained volunteer advisors enable people to find volunteering roles to suit their needs.

We also offer a range of services to not-for-profit organisations. In addition to the promotion of volunteering opportunities, we share information, provide training and advice on recruiting and managing volunteers as well as giving guidance on best practice.

Our training academy focuses on education: providing accessible, affordable accredited training and training solutions.

Volunteering has a positive impact on individuals, local services and the community as a whole.
