Meet VCG Trustees

Chris Grigsby - VCG Chair

Chris Grigsby

Chair

Chris worked in the Human Resources field for over thirty years as a senior manager/consultant during which time his work involved dealing with people from multi-cultural backgrounds relating to their employment.

Chris’s specialist area of expertise was in employment relations and change management. When Chris took semi-retirement he worked for one of the country’s leading visitor attractions within Visitor Services and as a Tour Guide at various sites.

Melanie Taylor

Vice Chair

Mel is Head of Learning and Deputy CEO for the Greenwich Cooperative Development Agency and manages their training contacts and support the CEO in the running of the organisation. Mel has delivered training in health and nutrition for many years and now delivers the Train the Trainer Level 3 course. She also manages the Woolwich Front Room.

Deborah Wallis

Treasurer

Deborah worked in the banking industry for 40+ years, mostly in accounts and treasury management but also as a consultant on change projects. Deborah was a London Ambassador during the 2012 Olympics and has also been treasurer of other charities within Greenwich.

Dr Sarah Joseph, PhD

Clinical Immunologist Imperial College, Associate Professor at UCL

Sarah is a clinical scientist with a background in tropical medicine. She has lived in Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya, and has always been committed to the development of affordable and accessible public health solutions. Sarah is particularly passionate about HIV prevention and has been involved in many clinical trials in the UK and abroad. She is also very committed to enabling and empowering the next generation of African scientists.

Kate Askew

Trustee

Kate’s previous work experience includes nursing within the NHS and development work for a pensioners' organisation within the voluntary sector. She was employed for over 20 years in Adult and Community Learning within the Borough, with the dual roles of community development and teaching. She has wide experience in the areas of Health & Safety and working with diverse community groups, and is now retired

Alexandra Booth

Trustee

Alex is the Head of Visitor Operations for an iconic visitor attraction. She brings together a degree in art history, experience in leading large teams and a passion for making art accessible, to deliver an award-winning experience.

John Cowley

Trustee

John is a communications and digital marketing professional with extensive experience working in the charity sector. In a previous life he worked for a PR agency based in the heart of Greenwich. A dedicated volunteer, John has worked with vulnerable people and young people, and supports local community organisations with their digital media and marketing. He currently works at a London University.

Adebola Akin-Odidi

Trustee

Adebola is an accomplished IT Project Manager holding a Master’s degree in Information Technology and an academic background in Engineering. She brings over 25 years of extensive experience within the oil and servicing industry. Adebola is deeply passionate about volunteering and is driven by a strong commitment to transforming innovative ideas into tangible business value.

Dorcus Omolabake

Trustee

Dorcus worked in Audit field offering 6 years valuable experience in managing and performing statutory audits, review of internal control processes and performance of financial analysis and reporting. Proven success in helping clients to achieve financial reporting requirements, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and reducing financial and operating risks.
